Espai d’Art Miquela Nicolau is located in Felanitx, a small town in the south east of Mallorca, in a 19th century house which was completely refurbished before its opening in 2006. Its three floors and cellar have become a space for the promotion of contemporary art in Mallorca, both from local and international artists.
The gallery is open to all kinds of contemporary creative projects, whether they are expressions through art, in all its aspects, or through music, literature...
We hold individual and collective exhibitions every year.
Espai d’Art Miquela Nicolau is a member of AIGAB (Independent Association of Art Galleries in the Balearic islands.)
Our objectives:
· To develop a space dedicated to contemporary art in all its expressions · To create a platform for young artists · To be a reference for national and international art collectors.
news 24 of February, together with AENA, Espai Miquela Nicolau will open an exhibition with Pedro Flores at the aeroport of Palma. The artist will present 40 sculptures big format.
In May 2011 will will have a intinerant exhibition "dues Ribas" in colaboration with Gallery Canals de San Jugat, Barcelona.
This year we will start a colaboration with "el Centre d'Études Catalanes", attached to Sorbonne in Paris,where we will organize one exhibition every year with one of our artists in their exhibition hall, rue St. Croix de la Bretonnerie in the “Marais”. In October 2011 we will present Miquel Mesquida.
